Discussion does not have to be limited to the comic itself; if you just want to gush about how hot Sigrun is, or open up a thread for fanwork prompt requests, or discuss SSSS/aRTD in the context of multifandom fanwork exchanges, that's okay too!

I like this idea.

I've been meaning to do a re-read anyway, because there's so much I've forgotten. (And I stopped doing my Chapter Thoughts posts after I caught up... so, a readthrough would be good motivation to write them again.)

A discussion over here would be easy enough to set up. I'm not sure whether it would be better as a thread or as its own post. Or what kind of scheduling we should do. I'll have to check to see how long a typical chapter break is.

Hmmm, I guess thread vs. own post depends on how comment-full it'll be (or do you mea one thread per chapter/week/etc., not One Thread Total?), and whether or not it'd be advertised externally to people who might not otherwise/already be on this comm...

If we get an approximate chapter break length announcement some time around the start of the break, that should help scheduling... idk whether that can be expected though. And this one might be extra long from the extra long chapter, who knows.

If thread: It'd be a thread on the disco post, with separate subthreads for each chapter. Unless people have a different suggestion for formatting?

If own post: It'd be a post on the comm, with separate comment threads for each chapter. Ultimately, basically the same as a thread, but maybe a little easier to read?

If forum post: It'd be a post on the forum, with all the messy disorganization that comes with trying to have this kind of discussion on the forum (ahaha...)

If we have it here as post or thread, I'll dump the links on tumblr, twitter, and FFA, for sure.

re: length, I can't remember if Minna usually says how many weeks it will be. An extra long break is possible, considering what a doozy this chapter was.

A reread would be really cool, and I like the idea of its own post with subthreads. It's the most intuitive format to me.

I do remember some of Minna's comments from my last reread, though I don't know if she was consistent in making them; usually chapter breaks seem to be 2-3 weeks, sometimes broken up slightly by cover pages and such, but like you said, maybe Minna is going to rest up a bit longer on account of the epic length of the chapter. If she doesn't mention it when the info page drops on Friday, we could always ask. :)

2-3 weeks sounds about right for the average.

Asking about the length sounds like a good idea, if she doesn't give a specific date for the break end.

Fitting everything into a schedule might be tricky even if it's a longer break than usual... coming out to 3 or more per week. Thankfully, some of them are pretty short.

We don't know exactly how long this break will be, and it's likely that the re-read will spill over a little. I can adjust the schedule if people don't like that; I just figured that going faster might be too much. (It's a re-read, not a binge-read.)

✻ Chapter break is over on the 29th! Which means the re-read will be reviewing chapter 10 in time for the beginning of the new chapter.

Soooo apparently Swedes and Danes also have animal spirits. And Norwegians and Icelanders too, of course. Interesting.

We know the shape of Lalli, Onni, and Reynir's spirits. What would the rest look like?

Do the fylgja and luonto seem functionally identical? Would we ever really see any gods, or are the various religious traditions just what's known to work, and everything else is extrapolation on a universal system.

Re: luonto and fylgja, it seems to be partly yes, and partly no. They're both companion-spirits, but they interact with the magic in different ways (fylgja guides, luonto increases power).

And there is slight difference from the form - luonto is literally part of the soul, whereas this doesn't seem to be the case with fylgja.
