Well, I guess this counts. This started on the SSSSForum, but I don't see any reason not to post the link here too, especially since it's kind of gone beyond the forum - I've seen people posting their challenge fics over on Ao3. So....

The discussion of it on the forum is in the NaNo thread, starting here. For convenience, I've copied the prompt table and rules to my DW journal, since it's easier to read in that format. And that entry is over here.

tl;dr:
-Write fics using the prompts provided (or substitute your own)
-Any length/format is fine, as long as it's SSSS or aRTD
-There is no end date

I'm technically doing this - I had a hand in starting it, so it'd be silly if I didn't participate - but I don't foresee myself finishing any time soon.

npt_admin has nominations open. I've nominated Sigruns Larsen and Eide, Tuuri, Aino, Grandma Hotakainen and Siv for SSSS and Hannu, Ville, Joona, Jonna and Paju, but obviously there's a whole lot of characters missing, so if anyone wants to jump in... :)

EveryWoman has nominations open, and I used up all 8 slots on both my accounts nominating for aRTD and SSSS already. Would someone with an AO3 account mind lending a few nomination slots? Maybe I'm being strange, but I think it'd be fun to see most/all the female characters from SSSS/aRTD nominated.

For SSSS, the ones who are missing are:

Oh noooo this is incredibly relevant to my interests, and yet... exchanges... hm. (WELL we will see.) Okay, I went in and added a few (as well as characters for the canons I'd need to meet signup minimums, ahaha... #smallfandomproblems)

Anyway, for aRTD, I went ahead and nommed:

And for SSSS I nommed:

(eta) Oh, and since we're trying to nominate everyone, Sisko should be added to the aRTD list. She's Paju's mother, only appears in ch04 and one of the extra comics, but heyyy at least she has a name. <3
And to address the aRTD question - No, I'm pretty sure Puppy-Fox's mother doesn't have a name, unfortunately. I don't think any of the foxes do. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

rarepairfest is currently in the nominations period (ends June 14). It's an exchange for pairings with fewer than 250 complete works of 1k, so everything from Stand Still Stay Silent and A Redtail's Dream is eligible for this.
(It also allows threesomes/moresomes and crossover pairings, if anyone's interested in that.)

Just tossing this idea out there: on the subject of exchanges, who here would be interested in an SSSS exchange run on AO3 in the same vein as other AO3 exchanges, with a nomination period, sign ups, matching, and so on? It'll be open to fic and art, but you can make the argument for other mediums if you wish. :)

I'm thinking we can nominate characters, relationships [as romantic (Sigrun/Tuuri) or platonic (Sigrun & Tuuri)], or even worldbuilding aspects such as magic systems or ghosts, etc.

If you're interested, what time period would you like this to run? A winter fest? (If so, can we name it Silent Night? XD) Spring season? Fall? (although it may be too late to plan it and get everything in order), summer for next year?

I would be interested in it at any time. Even if there's something else running at the same time, I'll make room for it.

Would it be SSSS only, or aRTD as well? Maybe even SSSS+aRTD crossovers as a possibility would be cool.
And being able to nominate worldbuildy stuff sounds awesome, too.

What kind of wordcount minimum are you thinking of? I know that 1k is typical, but maybe something smaller would be good (500?).

Winter sounds good to me, but it could run up against some major events (NaNo, Yuletide...) as well as the ssssforum's own yearly christmas exchange. BUT if it was held in January/February, that wouldn't be a problem.

The Basics: Halloween-themed fic & art exchange for bit-sized treats; minimum is 300 word fic or 1 clean sketch. You can request a Trick (dark/scary/supernatural work) and/or a Treat (sweet/sexy/romantic work). Fanworks don't actually have to have anything to do with Halloween.

There are no rarity requirements. It's OR matching. Unsure if I'll be participating, but I love this exchange, so it's likely. The small requirements make it low-pressure, a la Chocobox.
