Comic Discussion Post [CLOSED]

NOTE: This discussion post is closed. Go HERE for the new discussion post.

Use this post for discussion of Minna's comics! Feel free to post about the most recent SSSS updates, or about earlier developments. aRTD discussion is also allowed here.

Discussion does not have to be limited to the comic itself; if you just want to gush about how hot Sigrun is, or open up a thread for fanwork prompt requests, or discuss SSSS/aRTD in the context of multifandom fanwork exchanges, that's okay too!

In order to easily see the most recent posts, I suggest using Flat View.

✻ Please keep in mind the community's rules. Be reasonable to each other and choose not to warn apply here just as much as everywhere else in the community.
✻ Anon posting is allowed, but not required.

✻ Keep the discussion on topic. A bit of drift is okay; it happens. But keep the main focus on SSSS and aRTD, please.

Not going to lie to you. The first time you try sharing a story that's NSFW, it can be pretty scary. And that's okay! It might even be scary the second, third, fourth, and so on times! Just posting a clean story is intimidating enough without all the quality and content baggage you get for going NSFW. The important thing is to do what makes you happiest.

I will agree, having a voice to cheer you on (or egg you on) does help. In the absence of that, a beta can still be good! I'm a terrible example who doesn't typically work with a beta (for better or for worse...), but it never ever hurts to have an outside perspective. It might even be better to have someone who isn't a close friend do it. That way, they'll be a little more open with the feedback, whereas a friend might not be so comfortable. Places like this, or maybe the forum, it should be possible to connect with a beta reader. Maybe start a thread here? Or put out feelers through other fandom networks, see what comes up. Some people do offer themselves up as go-to beta readers! I've found that people in fandom are happy to be part of this crazy, creative mess.

That said, if comfort is your main concern, I've always felt anonymous spaces like this are very good for practice. The prompt/request thread and the situation generator thread are fair game for posting short fiction anonymously, and you have the benefit of it being low time-investment and name-free if you'd like to work through your nerves. I don't think anyone here would mind if you did.

Hey again-- I've been sitting on your message and Yuu's message for a few days, and I think I'll take the idea of posting to other sites. Right now I've had my NSFW works kind-of hidden on FF.net in various states of unedited (because that site automatically sets the rating range from K to T, so if someone's searching for M, they are certainly the target audience ;P).

I don't know if I have the guts to clean up those chapters and put them on AO3, where there seems to be a much larger audience. I mean, no offense, but FF.net has always been a place for... well, """lower quality""" stuff to me, and therefore if a work's not very polished, it doesn't matter. (Though that may have been because I used it frequently when I was 13 and everyone was, unfortunately, still into vampires.)

I think if I had a beta reader I'd be more comfortable posting stuff here or on AO3. Maybe making a thread for that would be a good idea? I know I'm happy to proofread for other people! (Is anyone else is interested in this idea?)

(Also, @ yuuago: it's mostly just emilalli right now. I'm also thinking about doing some sigri, but I'm still trying to figure out their dynamic!)
