I think the church they are in now is the pastor's personal dream version of the abandoned real life church somewhere, and it could be that Reynir saw the real life version in his vision. We didn't see much of it but it seemed to have a different air.

Actually when this dream sequence begun I was expecting some kind of... medieval death trap atmosphere, and what we got instead is Reynir and Onni eating cake. :D

Sounds about right. The church as she remembers it, versus what it looks like one plague and 90 years of trolls later.
