Well, that's creepy. Definitely a different tone from the last chapter page.

Hmm, Emil isn't there. Either he's guarding the tank, or he's gone missing....

I mean. Someone has to, especially if Odense is the hellhole it's implied to be, and Mikkel has more than one reason to be there: It was his idea to follow that trail in the first place, he's the medic and probably needed for identifying the stuff they're going to find, and someone needs to crowbar those doors open.

Ngl, I think I want him to be missing. I mean, okay, I don't want him to like... die or anything. But whenever someone in the crew is in danger, there's a part of me that screams NOOO, but there's an even louder part that screams YESSSSSSSSS!!!!

Okay, yeah. :D I'm all over this sort of thing in fic, canon makes my brain/heart do weird things (I'm overinvested, possibly), but knowing that they will get out alive... does help. :D

Yeahhh permadeath would be kind of distressing. (Suddenly recalling one of my favourite canons, which happened to have that occur, and even though it was a canon where somebody dying was very expected, it was still VERY UPSETTING and I cried buckets.)

But Emil or anyone else getting good and scared, and the others searching for him... Yesss do want.

I don't think permadeath is a thing in SSSS either, at least not for the main and support casts. I'm fairly sure Minna even confirmed that one once upon a time. (And having it happen in canon... sucks. I mean, in the Silm pretty much everyone dies, but not everyone dies dramatically on the page - although the ones who do, oh my. Still not the same as seeing it graphically rendered somehow. I'd be very upset about that one, too.)

I would assume he's in the tank because a. so far no one has really been in much danger and having someone missing/in serious danger for a prolonged period doesn't seem much to the tone of the comic, and b. it makes sense if they're going for a vaccine to take Mikkel and leave someone immune behind. However I desperately want Emil in danger so I'm also going to point out how worried everyone looks, even Sigrun. And especially Lalli, who, sure, is having serious doubts about how much he wants to be out here, but I don't remember seeing it so much to the point of fear.

That hospital is probably reason enough for looking worried. Huge, dangerous troll-nest potential and all that, and Lalli especially, with his mage abilities, must be having the time of his life there. So what you're saying still holds true with them looking afraid, but it doesn't mean there can't be other things going on. :D
