When I saw this page and that we're going to have only one more after this until the chapter break, my mind couldn't take it and I ended up writing a fic for it here because it just hurts to think of it in a Sigrun/Tuuri context and not do anything about it. I had to let it out.

But I agree with [personal profile] letizia on all points. Part of me kind of denied that this was happening, and so soon (although I suppose this is happening around the middle of Book 3, so about the middle of the planned series, so I guess it's about right?) So I guess this is the point of no return. Right now it looks like there's going to be A LOT of chapters dedicated to finding a cure, which makes it seem like we won't be seeing a healthy Tuuri for quite a while. For once I hope there's a quick and easy fix to this.)

(The one good thing to come out of this is how it's been making me see some connections and other fun things to add and expand on my fic 'verse. Jeez, self.)

Tuuri held the team together so it's going to be interesting to see them struggle to work together. Pastor A is definitely going to have to come into play now, so I imagine Reynir and Lalli going through the dreamworld. I don't know if they'll be able to meet up with Onni. Something Elleth and I had discussed a while back (on the subject of plot points Minna still had to tie up) was the possibility of It attacking Onni, perhaps while he was weakened, and after his saving the team, that definitely puts him at risk for an attack. Or It will be something Reynir and Lalli (and maybe Onni if he's not too K.O.'d from the summon) run into while trying to get Pastor A to Tuuri.

And a sudden thought I had: if they cannot use the tank after this and might not be able to make it to the rendezvous point, can they use the radio to announce that they are stranded and cannot leave the tank due to the risks and injured member, and will need a rescue team to fetch them and take them back? Would the Nordic Council send a rescue team?

I hadn't realised we're nearing the middle of the story, but I think you're right. It does kind of feel both "so soon" and "about time".

About the cure... my original theory was that there is no cure, at least not one salvageable within the course of this story. NOW I do hope there is a cure, but I always assumed that if they're going to have to test it on one of the team members, that wouldn't come to play until much later. I thought in that case infection might have happened after they had collected some more tangible information about a possible cure, perhaps even after some actual professionals (Siv etc.) would have had a look at it, or something like that.

Right now the idea "Lets's save Tuuri - let's find a cure - let's do a miracle" sounds the kind of thinking that goes against every rule and everything they have ever learned, and that's why I'm anxious to see the others' reactions and how exactly the plot develops from this point. D:

I've thought about it and... there was a cure for the physical part only - the flashback/notes showed they could stop the infection spreading in a body, though death occurred anyway and ghosts happened. Well, people back then didn't have magic, so it's entirely possible that with magic (and two or possibly three sets of gods, if they find the dead mystery pastor to help out) it might be reasonably easy to keep the spirit in the body and prevent the ghost thing happening... maybe that's "all" that's needed? Reynir can get into places he has no business being, he might totally be able to just walk into Tuuri's mind and/or into whatever non-physical component the sickness has and fiddle with it (and it's been shown as well that Lalli can follow where Reynir goes!).
