NOTE: This discussion post is closed. Go HERE for the new discussion post.

Use this post for discussion of Minna's comics! Feel free to post about the most recent SSSS updates, or about earlier developments. aRTD discussion is also allowed here.

Discussion does not have to be limited to the comic itself; if you just want to gush about how hot Sigrun is, or open up a thread for fanwork prompt requests, or discuss SSSS/aRTD in the context of multifandom fanwork exchanges, that's okay too!

In order to easily see the most recent posts, I suggest using Flat View.

Oh no, good luck!! Hope it goes well, you can do it! :]

If it helps, when I write with characters I'm not used to, I just write really blocky, simple sentences instead of nicely crafted words, to practice. E.g. Person A does this, person B reacts like this, etc. It's meant to be more of a stream of consciousness than anything, and it helps get ideas down on the page to read over, be it for character studies or plot-creating. So, um, if you get stuck then you may be interested in trying this? *sweats nervously* sorry if this seems quite pushy! D':

Fingers crossed here, too! You can do this, Yuu! <3

And hey, look! More unsolicited advice! :D

Something I've been trying in this fandom (since the Silm allows for far more leeway in character interpretation than SSSS, so it doesn't really work there) is similar to nonnie above, actually - more like a very detailed script or outline than prose, in bullet points, and then focusing on character voice and "translating" that script. It feels more like solving a puzzle than writing, but it's helped me get things moving when I wasn't sure I could.

Maybe run through some exercises? Find a prompt/situation generator and brainstorm their reactions until you find a groove. Think in terms of cause and effect, too: "this is A or B's experience, and so they feel such and such way".

If all else fails, those massive RP characterization surveys are a good characterization boot camp exercise. By the time you've finished it, you'll have a good grip on what characterization makes sense to you.
