I love how the imagery of their world is a mix of different eras as we know them (not necessarily the most realistic scenario but it's a big part of the appeal for me), and that feeling was particularly strong with the Mora chapter. If I didn't know the context, I'd think that Torbjörn and Siv work in different centuries; and then of course there's the contrast between Mora and Keuruu. Or Saimaa. That page is wonderful, it always gives me shivers.

(Also, I really like the idea of re-read discussion, but I'm super busy with work right now and don't know how much I'll be able to participate. Chapter 2 is a short one, so at least I'm almost caught up with re-reading now.)

Totally agreed! I find the mix of style going on in this world to be so charming.
(And agreed on the page about Saimaa - that part was just... wow. Arresting.)

re: the discussion, it's great if you are able to join us in any way. <3 I have a feeling that I might end up falling behind myself (it's the busiest time of the work year...) I figure, if I end up getting a chapter behind, I'll just dump my commentary anyway, since it'll show up on flat view.
